Adult No Touch Baby Thermometers

What is a safe baby thermometer and can it be used by adults too? If only I had a dollar for every little time that question was asked of me. It seems to be a quite common question, the answer to which is unquestionably yes.  Safe baby thermometers compute the quantity of infra-red radiation emitted from the body, without making body contact. No need to stick anything in a baby’s ear or anywhere else for that matter.  The device is indifferent to whether it is a baby, an adult, or an older child – the end result is the same. A non contact thermometer reading that is safe for your baby.  These safe thermometers are  marketed to expectant mothers for their babies predominantly because most expectant and new mothers would prefer to buy a safe thermometer, in fact the safest they can find, even if adults use is what it is intended for ( Adult thermometers are usually a little easier on your wallet).  However, they work just as well in all users.

There also seems to be some confusion as to since it is used on babies the device is operated by someone else other than the baby. So is it possible to take one’s own temperature?  Again, the answer to this question is yes.  These safe baby thermometers are very simple to use. Just point the thermometer at your forehead and press the button. You will hear a talking temperature in your chosen language. So the bottom line: it’s very easy to take your own temperature.

And now about safety. Picturing an accident with a conventional mercury filled thermometer can help you to appreciate just how dangerous they are really are.  Mercury has been n to medical science for over 100 years as a neurotoxin and a poison that can be absorbed right through your skin. Picture this; you’re feeling under the weather and so is your baby.  You put a mercury thermometer under your baby’s tongue.  While pottering around the bathroom you opened the bathroom cabinet door towards yourself and snap the thermometer in half.  The mercury is now spilling out and splinters of glass splatter and scatter all over the floor.  What if the mercury had spilled into your mouth?  What if  the baby was next to you?  What if the spill is found by a child because you didn’t manage to clean all of it up fully?  In this day and age mercury thermometers are as completely unnecessary as they are dangerous. For the safe baby thermometer your child deserves, spend the extra cash and get a robust non contact thermometer that it is not only safer, but much quicker and easier to use.

Remember, non contact baby thermometers can be used by adults.  They are a great investment for the entire family.
